FAQ

WHAT KIND OF FUEL SHOULD I USE?

We recommend using liquid bio-ethanol fuel for fireplaces as it is tested as the safest fuel for indoor fireplaces. NEVER USE BIO-ETHANOL FUEL FOR CARS OR ANY FUEL NOT INTENDED FOR VENT-LESS FIREPLACES.

IS BIO-ETHANOL SAFE FOR INDOOR USE?

Yes. You shall follow the instructions for each model regarding mounting and other instructions.

WHAT ARE THE EMISSIONS WHEN BURNING BIO-ETHANOL?

The result of combustion of Bio-Ethanol is water, steam and carbon dioxide. The ratio of CO:CO2 passes standards for flue less gas fireplaces and the amount of Carbon Monoxide is negligible.

HOW DO I OPERATE MY FIREPLACE?

Simply fill the burner with Bio-Ethanol Fuel and light it. Never add fuel when lit it.

HOW DO I ADD FUEL TO MY FIREPLACE?

NEVER add fuel to a fireplace that is already burning or hot. Carefully pour the fuel directly into the fuel tray using a funnel or other pouring device. Do not use a funnel that will be later used for food or liquids you will drink.

  • DO NOT allow children to refuel the Fireplace.

  • If fuel spills clean up immediately and thoroughly. Fuel spilled on a non-porous or absorbent surface will eventually evaporate.

  • DO NOT OVERFILL. Only fill the fuel tray ¾ full before lighting.

DOES IT SMELL?

Bio-ethanol has substances added to it in order for it to be labelled as de-natured. The burning of these substances may cause a slight smell upon initial lighting and will dissipate over time. There is also a slight smell once the flame is extinguished – similar to when you blow out a candle. The smell will soon dissipate into the air.

HOW MUCH HEAT WILL MY FIREPLACE PRODUCE?

Bio-Ethanol fireplaces do not need ventilation, which means that all of the heat will stay inside the room, making it more efficient.
